About Paula James NY 

NY1400 Jewelry Design & Wearable Art was started in 2014 by Paula Nailor, an artist and emerging jewelry designer based in Harlem, New York. Ms. Nailor has been a visual artist for most of her life in addition to working as a business professional in corporate America. Her art work consists of mixed media abstract collage and assemblage, oil, acrylics, sculpture and most recently jewelry design which she envisions as an extension of her mixed media and collage art. Two things I am most passionate about are beautiful art and beautiful jewels! Women never seem to have enough!" Each piece is very personal and hard to part with, but "I've finally got to a place where I'm able to enjoy sharing my creations by bringing happiness to others."

 

She has studied at the Arts Student League of New York and Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) where she currently works with sterling silver, gemstones and other metals. Besides working with semi-precious stones and metals, Ms. Nailor has become fascinated with the Lost Wax technique which has become the foundation for many of her current sterling silver and semi-precious metals jewelry designs. Her artwork and jewelry can be found in local boutiques, private showings as well as charity events where a portion of the sales proceeds are donated to causes important to her. Ms. Nailor sources unusual materials and high quality gemstones from all over the world to create one of a kind pieces of "wearable art" to be enjoyed for years to come.
